One smoky afternoon in the Alaskan summer changed everything for Joy. What began as a beautiful, peaceful day quickly changed to a fatal plane crash.
Joy Cooper was the only survivor. Her journey to recovery brought her through surgeries, paralysis, medical mishaps, and accident investigations.
Her story has been featured on FOX and CBS TV and she has been interviewed in top-rated podcasts. With nearly a decade experience in airline operations with United and American Airlines, turning chaos into structure, Joy has intimate knowledge of the safety protocols, training, and facets of maintaining safe operations. She has been recognized as a Top Female Executive in 2020 and listed on the Top Professional Women in 2021.
Joy holds a B.S. in Air Traffic Management and an M.S. in Aeronautics from Embry Riddle University. She has her private pilot license and holds an aircraft dispatch certificate. If you couldn’t tell, she loves aviation and travel!
Only a week after her life-changing crash, a counselor told her she may be afraid to fly again, to which she replied, “That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard!”
For her, mediocrity is synonymous with failure, and limits are something to be redefined and conquered.
“Using anecdotes and occasional humor, Joy held the audience’s attention from start to finish. It was educational, inspirational, and entertaining. If you are looking for a speaker, Joy Cooper will be a great addition.”
